Against all odds they emerged victorious.

The Temptation Series was inspired by the lives of twelve women whose accomplishments influenced Tina Blondell’s, the artist, life: Eve, Isadora Duncan, Frida Kahlo, Margaret Sanger, Marie Curie, Elizabeth I, Artemisia Gentileschi, Maria Montessori, George Sand, Antonia Bricco, Gertrude Simmons-Bonnin and Rosa Parks. It was Blondell’s intention to honor all women by bringing the example of these twelve to the fore. The viewer is offered the opportunity to reflect on the strong stands women have taken throughout Western History ... from Eve in the Garden to Rosa Parks on the bus.

about

The crisp, clean style combined with Blondell’s intellectual depth, make her paintings appealing on a very personal level. Perhaps these qualities are what endeared her work to thousands attending The Temptation Series exhibit during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia
